MISSION STATEMENT


"The primary purposes of the Beothuk Institute are to create, maintain and enhance public knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the Beothuk People and their prehistoric ancestors, and to initiate, support and/or encourage projects commensurate with this aim."

The Burnside Heritage Foundation will host a talk on coastal archaeology and a short film screening at the J. R. Smallwood Arts and Culture Centre in Gander on Friday, May 1st, 2009 at 7 p.m. in the Gallery. The evening will include a talk by Laurie McLean, archaeologist, a film entitled Outport Archaeology, and a reception. All are welcome.

Admission is free.
